Pros
Decent employee benefits and wages.
There are some nice and genuine people working at the coalface of communities.
Cons
My worst working experience. The very senior leadership is toxic. The cunningness, ability to be manipulative, disconnection from empathy and emotion, enjoyment in using whatever means necessary to gain power, misogyny - and narcissistic one-upmanship over perceived subordinates, (like the 16c Italian philosopher himself), seems rather apt to say the least.
Ensure you make a record of anything that causes you concern as HR practices are extremely dodgy and if your face doesn't fit or you express concern about practices, they will get rid of you swiftly. This organisation is more concerned with it's image, being important in the region and acquiring funding, than actual value or benefit to those it purports to serve. Outwardly they are a successful, forward thinking organisation, but don't be fooled, there are deep running problems within management.
I left with my morale rock bottom and confidence destroyed through micro aggressions and passive aggressive treatment as soon as I had the audacity to ask difficult questions. I know for a fact others have had similar experiences to me. Other senior leaders look the other way.
