Pros

The people are outstanding, the diversity in my job does make my job interesting, challenging and very busy (which I enjoy).

Cons

In the past 7 years, it has been constant taking away from Management (changed to a contribution pension, no increase in pay, no increase in benefits, every second Friday off is now 1 per month, unable to carry over vacation, we now pay for long term sick leave.

Pros

Job security is very good. Excellent people below upper management. The work is diverse, great for developing as an engineer. Base salary is good (average in industry). Good technical training opportunities.

Cons

High turnover of engineers. Extremely low engagement in engineering group, unsupportive leadership does not believe engagement scores from multiple surveys. Adversarial relationship between refinery and FCL. Total rewards (over and above base salary) not competitive but “good enough” for locale. Promotion of individuals based on experience versus competencies.
