Pros

There always seems to be a demand for election judges, so it's a nice way for students to earn some tax free cash in a day.

Cons

The day starts extremely early at 5am and although polls close at 7pm, there still may be an hour or two before all the equipment and documents are properly put away. That's a 16 hour day.

Pros

The Election Judge position is just for one day so one is not committed to it.

Cons

The training for Election Judges is ok but can definitely be improved. They teach you how to operate the voting machines for one day and expect you to remember it on Election Day. You can call "Downtown" where someone will walk you through the problem. The people that are very knowledgeable on how to use the machines are literally sitting in a huge office just waiting for precincts to call them for assistance - how about putting one person at every precinct instead? This is better than hundreds of them sitting waiting for us to call for help.
