Pros

- Remote work is amazing - On-sites are fun and creates solid team bonding - The work is very rewarding and you feel like you are making a difference in the new generation of teens - The fintech space is exciting to work in - Motivated employees who are exceptionally talented

Cons

- Never received feedback or given guidance/you are expected to magically know what to do next - Some of the employees are terrible to work with, rude and high ego driven (they don't understand the dynamics of a team) - They put the needs of their business over the needs of the customers - Very little direction from leadership makes the team do extra work with little recognition - Extremely overworked with little time to rest (frown on you for taking a vacation) - Unhealthy working environment - Benefits are not comparable to other start ups

Pros

Great opportunity to work for an early stage company. The leadership and team are well aligned on what we are building, and why we've chosen to build it. The team is well set up to really do some cool things in the banking space, setting teens on a path to financial well being. - Great people, with a breadth of startup experience - Leadership that understands technical resourcing and timelines, while also understanding that everyone here has a life outside of the job - Heavy encouragement for people across disciplines to be involved in the product roadmap - Lots to build across the technical stack, so there's plenty of chances to learn something new along the way

Cons

As with any company this size and this new, success is far from guaranteed. Everybody is committed to what we're doing, so in my mind, that risk doesn't bother me. From a technical standpoint, there's not really room for specializing at this point. The team isn't large enough to have dedicated front end, app/mobile, backend, or devops folks. We all work in every one of these areas, day in and day out (some more than others). I don't think it's for everyone, but people that enjoy wearing multiple hats should enjoy it.
