Pros
Great hands-on experience for engineers. You can take your product from concept to manufacturing and see every step in between by helping with test prototypes in the lab. You get to make innovative new consumer products and work with some great people.
Cons
The projects can tend to be reactionary, going on the whim of customers instead of doing things right. The lab could also use some updating. Raises are always small despite reports of record years.
