Pros

The paychecks cleared the bank.

Cons

My experience at that organization was not good. I have many years of industry sales experience and was considered more qualified than their typical employee. Cortera has a good (not great) product. Their platform is nimble and impressive. But their leadership is highly erratic and, in my opinion, trying to do anything they can to increase the value of the company in the short term. There have been countless talented salespeople in there that do not last more than three or six months. The poor recruiter begs employees to write good reviews about the company because he’s always trying to find the next replacement. The good reviews you see are coming from people who work in inside sales, with no actual work experience. Company leaders have a very compelling and well-honed spiel but their management style is focused on the short-term (number of calls you made, number of emails you sent). Unless you are part of the core five people here, you are entirely disposable and fully subject to the whims of an erratic leader and revolving door of middle management. Customers asked me all the time what the heck was going on with the company. They were so confused with the rampant turnover. If you are starving and have no options, give Cortera a shot with the understanding that it is highly likely to be a short term engagement. Otherwise, feel confident in walking away from a offer. Take your time and find the right job, elsewhere.

Pros

The grift continues at a company called Buxton in Texas. Check them out. It is amazing how many people that sucked all the value out of cortera found their way to Buxton. What is going on? These people are criminals of the worst kind. Watch, Buxton will be another failed company by end of 2025.

Cons

They are con-artists. All of them. Especially the CEO and CIO. They only know how to run a sham business into the ground. BE WARE
