Pros

As a driver, if you’re reliable and available for 40+ hours, especially during peak times, (depending on the location, of course) you’ll make some really decent money. You get paid for your mileage as well. As an assistant manager, you get a slightly higher and non- fluctuating pay rate. You don’t have to drive.

Cons

To start off, there’s no real or effective training process in place. People are hired in large numbers and just asked to watch a couple videos, shadow somebody for 1 day then figure the rest out during a rush… Now… As a driver, they monitor your driving with an app and a tracking device in your mandated car topper. They don’t always work properly and you can be well above average overall, but have one or two low scores and be termed, no discussions. As an assistant manager, on top of not getting proper training, you can be scheduled to open the store by yourself, on your first week! Haven’t even learned how to stretch dough yet! You are given a long checklist of responsibilities to get done, all while being ready to prep orders, take any incoming calls, greet incoming customers and manage whoever finally does arrive. There is no consistency in procedures, managers, all employees there really, are overworked, undervalued, and under compensated.
