Cons
Internal Politics and Poor Management: The Data Engineering department is 100% corrupt. Hire and Fire Policy: There is zero job security in Data Team especially data engineering and data analyst. The manager hires and fires employees every month, especially contract workers. They will remove you with just one day's notice, causing a lot of stress. Exploitative Hiring Practices: The department hires people from consultancies as contract workers, often forcing them to take pay cuts with each new hiring cycle. This hire-fire approach seems designed for personal gain through consultancy arrangements, raising serious questions about conflicts of interest that an audit team should investigate. Toxic Work Culture: The attitude from management is very negative and creates a toxic environment for everyone. Senior team members also behave unprofessionally, and no one takes any action against them. No Work-Life Balance: You are expected to work late every night, usually until 1 AM IST. If you log off by 11 PM, the manager will start targeting you and create issues about your performance. There is no respect for personal time. Outdated Technology: The tech stack is not up to market standards. They are still using older tools like Airflow, and there is no chance to work on new or interesting technology. Incorrect Job Role: The role is not for a data engineer. You are expected to work like a data analyst, writing queries and pulling data from tables the whole day. There is no real engineering work. Data Analyst are working like a monitoring support guy who just check tables status from UI. No real SQL development for Data Analyst too.
