Pros

There’s a good work/ life balance and some flexibility e.g. starting work early and leaving early for childcare.

Cons

- There is too much reliance on certain clients (landed estates) who have subsequently left the firm or will be leaving the firm for obvious reasons. - Lack of diversity. - Inconsistent expectations depending on whether the partner you work with likes you. - New partners don’t listen to employees who have been there longer than them because they want to push their own agenda and leave their mark. - Partners and senior associate micromanage junior members. - There are many partners with inferiority complex issues. - Surveys and feedback aren’t anonymous because you’re asked to complete details of your title and team, making it easy to identify you. This contributes to the scaremongering environment. - Partners complain that juniors don’t bill enough, but they micromanage (as mentioned above), write off your time and keep their own time. Then subsequently don’t offer you any bonus, in the lead up to make you redundant..! - I would be cautious before applying; they have a high staff turnover - people at all levels frequently leave the firm. They make redundancies too. - Awful pay. - pointless and unsuccessful firm mergers.
