Pros

There are a lot of great people here. I have made many friends, not just people who are nice that I get along with, but people who I would trust with my life. There are a lot of hard working people that would gladly put in 60+ hours per week (I used to). But after a while, you realize it is like reactive power. It is energy that is being used, but for nothing. You spend each day of your life giving it 110%, only to see your best efforts being killed by the very people who are paying you to do the job.

Cons

In an effort to keep this list brief, I will only focus on the major ones: 1. Quality - we are spending too much time and effort finding ways to reduce the cost in our products, without considering the warranty implications. If you save $500,000 manufacturing the product, but it costs you $1,000,000 in warranty claims down the road, YOU LOST MONEY!!!!! But this company has no way to understand warranty spend in relation to cost reduction efforts. I see this all the time and it makes me sick. I feel bad for the burden we put on our customers. People who do good work get more work, while people who don't do good work get to slack off. The big problem is, if you are hard working and really care about your job, giving it 110% all the time, your paycheck will be within about $1,000 of the person who slacks off and doesn't care. It like the movie Office Space. "If I work my back off and Initech ships a few extra units, I don't see another dime, so where's the motivation"? I appreciate someone who does good work for the sake of doing good work, however if you do good work, you will be given tasks and responsibilities way above your pay grade, and never see any incentive to keep doing it. After 5 years, you will start to wonder "why am I doing this" just like I am.... Also, I hope you like layoffs, the last 5 years I have went through 4 layoffs at Cummins. Way to keep great morale. I have seen some bottom feeders get let go, but they have also mistakenly laid off some really great people. They just replace everyone with college hires, which is great if you are a college student, but makes you wonder what is going to happen to you after 5 years of employment...

Pros

Most the people are okay. BUT this place is TOXIC AF They do not give you a 30min lunch, they take 30min out of your check, but they give you 30min away from your machine, so if you have to walk 2 to 3 min to and from your zone you barely get 25min for lunch, One of the new people was clocking out for 30 min for their lunch and was actually told if you clock out for 30 min you have taken a longer lunch than you are allowed.

Cons

Upper Management doesn't care or doesn't listen to employees, There is nothing on earth that will make people want to be there for 13days in a row, I used to hear at Cummins you have to follow the standard work, now its do whatever you have to to get your numbers. You DO NOT Provide enough time off, not when you are running people 13d in a row. you provide enough time off for a 40h work week nothing more, Get it into your thick skulls.
