Pros

There isn't anything that this company can offer than cannot be easily matched or out done by another company.

Cons

- No medical benefits. - No vacation. - No clear management guidance. - Unsafe work floor environments... Saw guards are not used regularly, management tasks people to do unsafe duties which are not practiced in any other wood shop environment. - Conducts unsound financial practices that do no promote long term growth.. (i.e. this company runs its employees with 10-20 hours of overtime A WEEK with no justification and little regard to company financial health.) - The manufacturing floor is often cluttered, dirty and unsafe for regular foot traffic. It is one OSHA inspection away from being shut down. - This shop requires you work the floor using your own tools without compensation... they do NOT specifically tell you that in the interview. - No employee handbook or company conduct guidelines for new employees. - No profit sharing (if asked about, management will swear they are working on this, but after 7 years of working on it, it still hasn't happen.) - The shop floor is not run by management, it is run by shop floor workers who clearly have no manufacturing or management experience. This makes the company seem more like Peyton Place then a place to get work done. - The quality control system in place here serves only to chastise those who work here. It only serves as a point to be fired over. This method of QC does not actually change the quality of the process but only make quality harder to achieve.

- No medical benefits. True we do not offer Medical Benefits at this time. - No vacation. Not true, we offer 1 hour of PTO per every 40 hours worked. - No clear management guidance. We have gone through major management changes and focus on management education and training. - Unsafe work floor environments... Saw guards are not used regularly, management tasks people to do unsafe duties which are not practiced in any other wood shop environment. We work within all state and federal requirements. - Conducts unsound financial practices that do no promote long term growth.. (i.e. this company runs its employees with 10-20 hours of overtime A WEEK with no justification and little regard to company financial health.) True we were poorly managed and have since made several changes in management and our financial department. - The manufacturing floor is often cluttered, dirty and unsafe for regular foot traffic. It is one OSHA inspection away from being shut down. Not true we work in a safe environment. - This shop requires you work the floor using your own tools without compensation... they do NOT specifically tell you that in the interview. True we expect you to bring your own personal small tools that are required for the position you are applying for. We replace anything that is broken or worn out during the time that you are working for us. - No employee handbook or company conduct guidelines for new employees. We have a complete handbook and it is provided at the date of hire and it should have been provided if not it was available. - No profit sharing (if asked about, management will swear they are working on this, but after 7 years of working on it, it still hasn't happen.) We starting the profit sharing Idea in 2013. We were under poor management and have since made the corrections and are on track to beginning a very aggressive employee profit sharing program that everyone at CSW believes in. We have an open book policy and have monthly financial reviews and training for employees. - The shop floor is not run by management, it is run by shop floor workers who clearly have no manufacturing or management experience. This makes the company seem more like Peyton Place then a place to get work done. The shop floor is ran by knowledgeable managers that are qualified to manage. - The quality control system in place here serves only to chastise those who work here. It only serves as a point to be fired over. This method of QC does not actually change the quality of the process but only make quality harder to achieve. The QC process is a tool used for constant improvement and not used to fire anyone. We believe for the right person and right job opportunity we are willing to give people a chance to prove themselves. We do not lie about what we are looking for in employees. You were promised a review after 90 days.

Pros

Great people to work with and very friendly atmosphere with good moral . Beautiful finished product comes out of this shop. The senior management pays employees well if you show you are deserving of it.

Cons

There are a couple of cons, but they have good reasons behind them. Long hours and working on the weekends when the company is busy, but it looks good on payday. Rush, rush, rush, but it keeps the companies head above water, helps us get jobs, and keeps everyone working and out of the unemployment line

A great comment of where we were. We have made a lot of changes to correct our what we have done in the past.
