Pros
*Good brand to have on your resume Thats it.
Cons
Working at Cynthia Rowley was emotionally draining, exhausting and quite frankly terrible. I knew I made a mistake at the end of my first week when the woman who hired and trained me looked me dead in the the eyes and said "I hate it here." As a manager you have no power, I had an 18 year college student working for me who would never show up on time, Juuled in the bathroom, came in high, left early and would close the store hours early. I wasn't allowed to fire her because she looked "on brand". I was never allowed to deny associates time off, therefore I had to work their shifts. I also was never allowed to be paid for more than the minimum 40 hours a week despite always working close to 60. Employee discount? At what the pay, how could their employees afford anything? $525 for a cotton kaftan. You're usually the only one working in store so you can't take a break, but you get 30 minutes- an hour deducted each day. You also can't eat or go to the bathroom during your shift due to the lack of employees. Side note, Cynthia Rowley licenses her name to TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Ross, so frequently you have customers bring in that merchandise to return or exchange and then you find yourself educating them on the concept of licensing. The only store Cynthia cares about is Bleeker Street, that stores consistent holier than thou attitude impacts every other locations business as we are forced to send them merchandise all the time. My biggest issue was the fact I never received the proper final check, the President of the comapany claims there were issues with hours, which are fine. But in my state its illegal to with hold a final check. For each day I wasn't paid after that pay period the company owed me 10% of my final check each day. There I am still owed $1,250 by Cynthia Rowley.
