Pros

The food really is great albeit not always consistent. Most positions are well-compensated which is not enough for most to tolerate the owner's poor and abusive behavior.

Cons

The owner, Matt Coggin, gets in the way of actually having a successful restaurant. He is racist, derogatory, misogynistic and harasses his staff on a regular basis.

Pros

-Old location in Virginia Highlands was a community mainstay. Despite the owner's constant attempts to drive them off, lots of neighborhood regulars that tipped well. -Catering side of the business was often good money, although you will probably be expected to drive your own vehicle rather than the company van.

Cons

-The owner cares more about pleasing his mommy and Yelp reviewers above all else. Logic will never prevail. You will always come second (or third, fourth, fifth...) to the mighty Uber tablet, even if the entire restaurant is actively drowning. Customers will take advantage of you/the restaurant and he will let them. -Menu was too large and too complicated. Customers didn't understand how to order. Staff didn't understand how to take orders. Kitchen didn't understand how to read orders. -Speaking of staff, the place was chronically understaffed, so anybody with a pulse would be hired, trained 2 days, then thrown out onto the floor to sink or swim (usually sink). Management/ownership certainly didn't seem to understand why that wasn't working. -Serious professional servers will end up carrying the entire team with no promise of better shifts, more money, autograt on large parties, or even a "thank you" from management. You will only ever end up expected to do more for less.
