Pros
DFS Construction is honestly a fantastic place to work. I have been here for 10 years and feel that our culture is a "work hard, play hard" environment which in my book is what I want. Yes, we all know you need to work hard to get anywhere in life, but it's the play hard side of the business that allows employees to develop life long friendships, learn and grow not just as an employee, but as an individual in life. This play hard environment allows you to flourish and expand your knowledge which makes advancement within DFS Construction much easier. Our many social events and team building activities create a comfortable setting to ask questions, learn and become a true part of a team where everyone has each other's back. And by having these smaller teams, you create a sense of "belonging" and "we're all in this together" so let's work together and not point fingers which is what you find in other companies. I think this type of environment makes it very easy to find good people to join DFS Construction and we all know that smart employees are what make an good company thrive.
Cons
I think the toughest part about working for DFS Construction is when people join DFS Construction and do not give us enough time to teach you. Everyone learns at a different pace. Sometimes the "grass is always greener" and they often find out it is not actually greener. We have had some people leave to move onto "better and bigger things," which is fine in life and expected, but then they realize it's not "better" and come back to DFS Construction. And some employees who have left have remained very good friends and we do business with them still to this day. That is always a great sign when an employee leaves your firm and you end up working together on a project down the road as a client. That alone says so much about DFS Construction.
