Did a contract role with Dish and found it to be so intolerable that I quit after 1 day. Not kidding.
They had lunch set out for new hires. They were very clear with me that I was NOT to touch the lunch food because I was a contract role
They didn't know where to put me on day 1, so they gave me a desk with old coffee cups and old food on it.
I was forced to listen to small talk for hours about how Dish was the next big thing (Felt like a fever dream)
My manager could not have cared less to have a conversation with me.
The language barrier between the people I was supposed to be learning from was so bad that I would ask them to repeat themselves 4 or 5 times each time they said something. Eventually I just gave up and started nodding my head.
A dying company with awful culture. Avoid at all costs. The salary they offered me was 45% more than what I was making, and that still wasn't enough to convince me to stay more than 1 day.
