Pros

- the pay at that time was good - benefits at that time was good, everyone could get a corporate phone

Cons

- the department that I was in actually was quite warped in terms of roles and responsibilities. Social media, media relations were given to other sub-teams to do, while leaving only webinars/events. This role is just about sales lead and events, which need physical presence for execution work, - budget was given very little to participate in APAC events on a meaningful basis. You can only afford to do 1-2 major events in APAC with that. - Zero freedom to strategise and plan frequency, priority markets to work on is little. Power over those platforms fall into the hands of those who have control over the platform, or budget (budget are all tied back to Norway, this applies to management). - HR hire important business partners but do not concern themselves in the performance of staff. Especially the people managers. Faced the most offhanded hr guy from Netherlands for my exit interview - my line manager can actually tell me she is washing off all hands on events tactical work. also she slacked off 2 months of social media posts. question why the co will convert her from a contract role to a permanent role with a very high salary (close to 130K an annum) - increment and bonus are very bad. In the past before 2021, the AR will indicate a % of the bonus (including the formula for calculation), However, now bonus is like dependent on group targets. Understand that subsidies for green energy projects have been cut 2 years ago. - BYOD is now the way to cut corporate device purchase.

Pros

Culture, work life balance, health benefits, 401k match, sick leave. The work is interesting and the people are great. There are many different business areas, so depending on your expertise, you could move around within the company if you want.

Cons

Silos, career development can be unclear and poorly managed depending on who you report to, unclear job expectations depending on your management, unclear path to progress or promotion depending on management, long term employees are paid less and have not been brought up to market value. The cons are more so related to upper management not advocating or helping their team progress. I’ve had some managers who are wonderful, and others that were not when it came to development. It really depends on the team and the department you are part of. The company is huge and it’s easy to get pushed to the side if you do not advocate for yourself and build an internal network.
