The Marketing Manager micromanages every aspect of your work and will interfere directly by overruling decisions your line manager makes that relates to your attendance at customer events because she doesn’t like you. The MD and Marketing Manager are best friends and therefore the marketing manager can do no wrong therefore you can not escalate the problem to the MD as he will take her side every time. They clock watch you and staff complain about how un flexible they are with supporting the work life balance when it comes to last minute child care needs or Appointments making people make the time up or take it as annual leave dispite the fact 90% of their task force are field based and work many hours over and above a “Standard work day” would be. Marketing Manager is terrible at keeping confidential information to her self and often will gossip to her friends outside of work, the current responsible person or other staff about it. They even admit to getting advise from friends on a situation which should never of been discussed outside of work or specified need to know staff. They insist on using an out dated custom made system that is slow and frustrating to use. Refuse to upgrade to a better system because they do not want to have to learn how to use it even if it would improve their work load 10 fold due to fear of the unknown and fear someone else may understand something better than they will which could undermine their authority. Never divulge anything you wish to be kept private to the Office Manager she will of told the marketing manager all the details within minutes of you turning your back and told half the sales force over the phone. The office manager is not able to cope with the many requirements of the job and even states the previous person was far better with the technology and that she has no interest in IT or the technology / systems claiming she is too old (in 50’s) rather than real excuse that they are lazy and can not be bothered. The Sales Manager is very kind and tries To support everyone not just her direct team but is spread too thinly and the MD fails to recognise this. Sales force do however get dismissed or pushed out easily and quickly if they upset the MD or Marketing Manager even paying people to leave quietly. The responsible person only manages contracts which for a Company this size is not a full time job but somehow this role gets paid a lot for not doing a lot. The Medical Manager is lazy, rude and arrogant but retirement is on the cards. The sales team are lovely and they will all answer any questions you may have at any time. Often you find yourself talking on the phone to your fellow sales team members when doing a longer drive to visit customers where you can mutually support each other about the latest thing the marketing department are being funny about. The company interview should warn you at what type of company this is and if not take it from me staying away from this company is the best thing you can do.
