DRC (Design Resource Center)

Is this your company?

These people don't care about their employees. - Account Executive DRC (Design Resource Center) Employee Review

Pros

The owners seems very cool, and most of the design staff are lovely people.

Cons

It is literally like a few personalities are going through a divorce... a bad one. Yelling, trying to pit people against one another, slamming doors, MAJOR egos, back stabbing. They have a backward process with a MAJOR micro-managing style. They will throw you under a proverbial bus in meetings without a second thought. They make you feel completely worthless and suck out whatever confidence you initially had because you aren't doing the job the way they want it done in their head. They won't train you, so good luck in mind-reading. They go so far as to reading drafts of emails before you send them. They try to be a "fun" company, with a "Bring Your Dog To Work Day" and a golf day, but the place is so hostile. And if you don't work from 7am - 6pm, you aren't a "team player". There is no reason people should work past 5:30 on a daily basis.

Pros

DRC was a great place to work! I looked forward to going to work every day in the beautiful office and being part of the DRC team. I enjoyed the variety of projects working with big clients and the creative studio feel. I love going to the store and seeing products in packaging that we have created! The management is very welcoming and accessible and they value the team’s input and recommendations. They truly care about their employees and have been implementing more ways to promote a strong office culture between departments, especially during Covid with some employees in-person and some working virtually. Monthly Happy Hours and Coffee with Conversations via in-person/virtual meetings are fun and are a great way to get employees interacting with each other to promote connection and strengthen the office culture. I enjoyed working on a diverse range of projects and that every day was different. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and apply your skills and flex your creativity. You are an asset to the team and your growth is beneficial to everyone. My generous boss had even offered to pay for continuing education courses if I was interested in learning new skills/techniques. My co-workers have been great and it has been an overall awesome work environment.

Cons

It is essential to be good at multi-tasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines. Is it a fast-paced environment and time-management is essential.
