You will gain experience far beyond the amount of time you spend at the company, but only because the principal runs a lean ship and takes on far too many jobs. Principle is completely unprofessional towards employees and clients. Often times, it feels like you are working for a very tall toddler. The office environment does not encourage positivity or teamwork. Placing blame feels more important than finding solutions. Principle embellishes how the office operates during interview. Do not expect a rigorous or logical design process. No office management. Administrative tasks divided among designers. No HR department, therefore nobody ensuring employee happiness and job satisfaction. Again, principle embellishes how the office operates. High turnover rate. No one has been employed in this office as a full-time employee for more than 2 years. Expected to come to work early, work through lunch, and work late. No overtime. No extra compensation. No recognition for professional degrees or certifications. No 401K. No retirement plans. Basic health insurance. No paid maternity leave.
