Pros
After I got made redundant in autumn 2023, I was at a loose end of what to do. All my confidence had gone, I didn't know what to do. But then I found Data Annotation (DA). After applying and passing the onboarding assessment, gradually I got access to more and more projects. Now, 15 months later, I have made £25,000 and have a job where I can literally work whenever I want to fit around my schedule and plans. For example, I love watching cricket so I can go to whatever cricket games I want to in the summer, and work more in the winter. The most flexible job in the world I would say. I am forever grateful that I saw DA advertised when I did! The work is interesting and varied too, with something for everyone in the various domains available.
Cons
As this is essentially gig work, work is not guaranteed and there are quiet periods where there might be not so many projects available and income might be lower. Also, given you are not on a contract, you have to sort taxes out yourself, and can be let go without notice or explanation if your work standards slip. But continually produce high level work and projects should be available for you.
