Pros

The merchandise The GOOD customers Great if you are only looking for part-time work and you completly disregard eeverything I write below

Cons

All of the previous reviews said all that was needed about the commission scale, basically, doing my three weeks at David's Bridal, it's something that it seems everyone avoided talking about. The pay is only essentially minimum wage, but doing the interview they will make it seem as if as a seasonal part-time employee the options are endless...don't believe it. The staff just seemed drained when I came on board, and most of them had been there for years and it still seemed as if they were just going with the flow and had not neccessary mastered the position. It is ALOT of work, and I am by no means lazy, but I just can't see myself cleaning dresses and bras, carrying heavy dresses back and forth, doing unneccessary paperwork, cleaning the store, helping brides dress and undress, then clean up the disaster they leave behind all for 7.50/hr. I have worked in management positions in retail, that payed more, and I have had less responsibilities a day. When I was hired, the store was going through changes, and it seemed that the new manager wanted to implement new successful ways in which to operate, but at the manadatory meeting we had, with most people everything she talked about went in one ear and out the other. I felt as if I could effectively communicate with only one manager there, the other's seemed as if they didnt really like me. The batch of new girls I got hired with will agree that we were just thrown out there with no real training, so half the time I had no clue what I was doing, and when some one corrected me they wouldnt explain anything, they just took over. There was one manager that persdonally saw to it that I took it most of the worklaod before I left. I feel as if everyone should put their own merchandise away, none of us are children, so there is no reason why we can't put or own things away. All and all, I pretty much felt like a slave, doing the grunt work for the Consultant I was supposed to be "shadowing", it Just isn't a great company, I didn't like the customer base, the staff or more than half of the management. The company needs a major overall, but after just three short weeks I decided that I wasn't going to stick around to see if it would suffice. If you are reading this becasue you are considering a job with the company PLEASE take my advice and look elsewhere.

Fun job as long as you have the personality for it and can understand what people are looking for

Cons

High expectations from managers and will push you to make the sale even when customers aren't interested.
