Pros
DeVry remained fully operational during the pandemic allowing its employees to work remotely. DeVry continued the remote platform throughout the end of the pandemic and now operates in an on-site/remote capacity. The job itself was well ran and management truly try to meet their employee's needs.
Cons
However, the job can become grueling day in and out answering phone calls and hand holding grown adults through college. This ebb and flow can easily become monotonous and there is a good number of the veteran employees who drop the ball because of this tiring regiment. This creates divide amongst your fellow employees in other departments (admissions/welcome advisors) because you will end up bearing their workload. As a result, this leads to an academic advisor position juggling more than one job: specifically handling student concerns, onboarding/orientation, and financial aid all for one position's salary.
