Pros

DeVry provides robust training for new colleagues that are coming into the Student Support Advisor role. Ongoing training is also provided. There is a lot of room for growth and advancement within the organization. Nearly everyone in upper leadership has been with the organization for a long time. Strong core values on advancing DE&I through Business Resource Groups. There is a lot of opportunity to network within the organization. DeVry provides competitive compensation with annual increases. PTO is substantive and increases based on years with the organization plus the ability to buy up additional days. 401k + 6% match is very nice. Mental health resources are also provided.

Cons

Being in a fully remote environment has its challenges, but the organization is aware and working to solve problems that are brought up. Moving into leadership takes time as those in leadership do not frequently leave the university. Raises based on internal equity would be much appreciated. For example, more value should be placed on furthering ones education as this advances internal talent. Medical insurance through UMR is expensive and the ROI is low.

Pros

DeVry Day was a wonderful example of our positive culture, meaningful work, and commitment to making a difference. Welcoming and congratulating graduates allowed me to celebrate their achievements firsthand and witness the impact of the support and resources DeVry provides throughout their educational journey. The event created a sense of community, recognition, and pride that reflected our dedication to student success. Seeing graduates and their families celebrate this milestone reinforced how our work contributes to helping students achieve their goals and create better futures for themselves

Pros

Work from home, good benefits, paid time off & the pay.

Cons

They say it’s not a KPI based position but it is. They will not give commission because they say we should be in it for the students and not numbers but the position is solely based on numbers. This is not a warm, team friendly position. Even your team mates are in competition with you. You will work two Saturdays out of the month and sometimes even Sundays and they still won’t be satisfied with your work ethic.
