Pros

You will work remotely and learn a lot about stress management, toxic culture and navigating to the caos of unorganized fast growing company,

Cons

They make the employees post and comment positively in public however, I’ve never worked in such a toxic environment before. Within a year , 10 employees in total where fired or resigned in the team, that can give you an idea of the toxic culture. They use the old strategy of making you feel that you haven’t done anything good, and you might be fired any time soon. You are not supposed to talk with your teammates as they do not want the team to realize that they are all experiencing the same toxic treatment. Is really strange as it is a remote company…. Extremely unrealistic goals for employees, no matter what you do, you will never achieve them. Managers and team leads can be unprofessional and disrespectful and get away with it because there is no one supervising them. Even if you report it to HR, the best thing you will get is you being fired for flagging concerning situations. Bad practices and bad services are provided to the clients, no real quality controls. Overall, all what Deel cares about is for the employees to work unrealistically fast , unpaid overtime , understaffed, and to make sure the clients don’t escalate… that’s it. Part of the cultural practice is to make everyone believe that the team numbers are bad, . If being laid off , and if you want to get your severance, expect them to push you to sign a legal document indicating that you have been paid and you could not sue them EVEN WHEN YOU HAVENT BEEN PAID. Many ex colleagues had indicated the company applied this same ilegal practice to them, making them sign and not receiving their payment until they get the authorities involved. Absolute no life balance as you will try to keep up with their expectations until you realize how the rest of the employees are also experiencing burnout. Safe yourself a really bad experience and look for better opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

- Fully remote - Mostly nice and talented people, you can learn a bunch and the atmosphere is good in the beginning - Once you realize you're not ever getting a raise you can get by doing bare minimum - You can write the ceo on slack and he will respond, which is actually insane considering its such a huge company

Cons

- Everyone is underpaid, even the senior directors. They present employee equity as extra compensation, but make it very difficult to sell shares at secondaries. - Raise/promotion policies are set up in a way where most ppl will never get it. I've seen superstar employees get 2% annual raise. The rest got 1%. - Pay is localized, so you can do the same exact job but get pay half of the compensation if you're not based in the US. - It's either employee contract for less money, and you have some employee rights given to you by your country, or more money but you're getting misclassified on a b2b contract and using vaction days when you get sick. The actual work requirements and responsibilities are the same in both cases. - If you're not drinking the koolaid you better fall in line and keep any opinions challenging the status quo to yourself - Manager can get pretty manipulative, they'll say anything to appease you, but will not act in your interest unless it aligns with their internal politics play
