Pros
Nothing positive about it, I had nightmares about that place of work
Cons
The work environment was stressful and highly pressurised, with unrealistic expectations on sales targets( especially SHOE CARE) absurd, and store performance. Management often lacked clear communication and support; the supervisor was hiding away from shop floor and work, leaving sales associates deal with everything from sales, to complains, phone calls, cash desk operations, also constructive feedback was rare. Opportunities for learning and professional development were very limited. There was little to no support for employees who want to progress into supervisory or management roles, The opening and closing procedures of the store were too much paperwork and stress. Management consistently created a demoralizing and stressful environment, criticizing staff during shifts and even while off duty via WhatsApp messages about mistakes or problems. The workload was high and expectations unrealistic, contributing to stress and negatively affecting mental and physical health—during this time, I experienced hair loss due to stress. Sick leave was not supported. There was no sick pay, and staff were reprimanded for falling ill or not reporting illness in advance. I personally experienced this during a bad cold and feeling unwell, which added unnecessary pressure. Staff were frequently forced to work unpaid overtime. Refusing extra hours resulted in punitive actions, such as cutting scheduled hours or threats of termination. Senior management instructed under-managers to fire employees who resisted overworking.
