Pros

-Good company for starting in IT as the work is mostly introductory but varies widely from hardware, software and network requests -Most technicians are helpful when developing new hires as there is a large workload and are happy to get someone up to speed to give relief -There is a large amount of travel but company cars were issued to technicians -Get to meet some great customers who own restaurants, bars and stores(creating relationships that can give some perks!) -Christmas bonus(though a rather small one)

Cons

-BE PREPARED FOR ON-CALL ROTATIONS! This is a 24 hour service company and there WILL be calls between 2-4am -No overtime pay. This does not mean you pack up at 40 hours though, you just get flex time. -The pay is on par for those beginning their careers in IT but the workload for that pay can seems overwhelming -Though the other technicians are helpful, it is a bit sink or swim, so if you are not a fast learner this is not the place for you. -I understand leadership has changed since I worked there, but at the time they cared more about their income than their employees. -No paid development for certifications or classes outside of vendor's software that DBS supports.

This former employee was employed with DBS in 2014 and not at the time the review was written in 2018. In 2014, we did in fact offer flex time for any hours worked past 40, however, in 2015 we removed the flex and we strictly pay OT for all hours worked past 40. Additionally, we work in the service industry, specifically the hospitality industry with clients who are open until 1am, 4am, and some even 24 hours. We built this company 37 years ago based on our local support and service that we provide. All of this is clearly communicated to the potential new hires during the interview process. In fact, we also have existing employees sit in during the interview process and explain exactly how daunting on call can be. It can definitely be a grind to be on call, but it is part of the job and everyone clearly knows when they are interviewed. Also, a typical on call week will usually bring in another $800-$1200 of additional income for that employee. Times have changed drastically since 2014. We perform monthly one on ones now with employees and we will perform 6 month and yearly reviews.

Pros

Very flexible when it comes to needing time off for family whether it's unexpected or planned. PTO, 401k, and health insurance are great for a smaller company. They really value their staff and since the upper management has been changed nothing but amazing things to say about the company.

Cons

There is on call for most of the employees but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. In order to move up past branch manager you two have to be at the corporate office which is limiting.

Based off the multiple spelling and grammar mistakes from this review I am assuming this is a bot, or an employee who has not worked for us in some years. As you can tell from other posts over the past 18 months DBS is a fantastic place to work!
