Pros

Don't get the DemandTec of today confused with IBM's DemandTec (the dark ages)! Since carving out from IBM, leadership has brought renewed excitement and a strong, differentiating vision to our products. The solid, ongoing investment has shown a regular stream of product enhancements and employees who are reinvigorated to work for DemandTec, knowing all the while there was so much potential! We are steadily regaining our market strength even through what's been a tough year for retailers and I'm excited to see what the future has in store for DemandTec!

Cons

The initial switchover from IBM was a little bumpy, but things have really smoothed out over the past year. DemandTec sometimes gets caught in Acoustic's marketing cloud communications, which could be confusing to employees with particular initiatives, but they're working on it and have made some improvements!

There are no Pros, seriously. Everyone that is employed is unhappy and looking for work elsewhere.

I'm writing this a very big warning to anyone looking to go thru the interview process at DemandTec. The company in 2021 saw how bad the reviews were for the organization and told everyone on an all-hands call to go to Glassdoor and give really good reviews to bump up the rating, so that they could try to hire people. This is why you'll see a lot of positive reviews for February 2021 and March 2021. Leadership never even mentioned that they would actually try to listen to the feedback and make the organization any better. There is zero opportunity for growth within the organization. The company is being dragged down by the highly unsuccessful Acoustic. There have been rounds of layoffs the past 3 years and they've flattened the organization. The work environment is highly toxic, with everyone highly frustrated due to constant organizational mishandlings that cause more stress on an already stressful job. In July 2022, the company did a mass layoff letting go about half of the organization, this is when DemandTec died. It left the employees still remaining with a much larger workload and much fewer people to help guide them. DemandTec's leadership claimed that they would be much more profitable by laying off these great employees and having them work for a company that DemandTec just partnered with. Less than 2 years into the partnership, DemandTec leadership stated that the partnership was far too expensive, so they cut ties with the partnering company and brought all the workload back inhouse without any new positions. There is zero product innovation and there is so much tech debt that it is too costly to update. They cannot hire new engineers because no one wants to work with such an old Tech Stack. Clients are abandoning the software due to performance issues as well as a lack of innovation. DemandTec claims to offer highly accurate Pricing/Promotions, however clients find out after implementation that it is the exact opposite. Ask DemandTec how many data scientists they have. The number is zero, the employee who runs the science models, only knows how to press the buttons in the GUI to run them, literally no further knowledge.
