Pros

Devbridge Group aspires to be a successful digital company and at times creates an atmosphere that is reflective of this. Additionally there are several perks, not dissimilar to other startups, like ping pong, Friday lunches, gym memberships and video games.

Cons

The actual pros of working for Devbridge start and stop with what I wrote above. Unfortunately, the company has issues with hiring and retaining good talent and it's reflective of serious problems stemming from senior leadership. The team of co-founders can't seem to get out of their own way. They are unable to trust their employees and because of this, micro management is rampant. There is also a high level of disrespect and dismissive attitudes toward the rest of the organization, specifically to women. The company also suffers from "bait & switch" hiring practices. It's not uncommon to be hired for one position, only to be shifted into another without a discussion. Others found themselves hired for mid-level positions with promising responsibilities but in reality, the positions were stripped down to entry-level tasks. Unfortunately, senior-leadership lacks enough awareness to recognize that they are setting their employees up for success. Instead, when someone leaves the company or is fired, it is communicated to everyone else that "they couldn't hack it".

Pros

Devbridge sets itself apart in a few ways. The first of which is investment in employees. From the time I started, the benefits have continually improved (retirement, extra week of vacation, the ever-popular Friday lunch, etcetera) concurrent with the growth the company has experienced. Additionally, management makes the effort to stay in tune with every aspect of the company, and everyone's voice is heard. A flat hierarchy means that everyone is accessible and the company is better off for it. Management does a great job of turning new business in to sustainable growth, which they've been doing since the inception of the company, so it's really no surprise. All-in-all, the people who work at Devbridge are happy to be there and I think it shows. Happy workers are productive workers and the folks at Devbridge are good at what they do.

Cons

There aren't many things about working at Devbridge that could be considered unique cons, considering what life is like at any other company, regardless of industry. If you don't like what you do, 8 hours per day of billable work (or simply 8-10 hours of work) will wear on you regardless of where you are. Devbridge does pretty well providing ways to blow off steam (game nights, ping pong, video games, adult beverages) both in and outside of working hours, and compensating you for your effort. I've worked for some turn 'n burns in my time, and Devbridge is definitely nothing like them. Lastly, the asiago cheese bagels don't last long enough. There should be a never-ending supply.
