Pros
If nothing else, you’ll learn to ask uncomfortable questions before saying “yes.”
Cons
I joined with the intention of building a long-term career and even accepted the PPO. I wasn’t looking to leave. Later, I was presented with only two options—resign immediately or serve an extended notice period. I chose immediate resignation based on those options, but I was never informed that this would later result in the deduction of one month’s salary as notice pay. My resignation was accepted immediately, my last working day was confirmed, and my exit formalities were completed. Months later, after repeated delays in my Full & Final settlement and multiple follow-ups, I was informed of the deduction. What disappointed me most was not just the deduction itself, but that the circumstances leading to my resignation were never meaningfully addressed.
