Pros

One or two staff that genuinely care.

Cons

I have NEVER in my life experienced such blatant disregard for people! Behind closed doors is just a money making factory that treat the deceased like they are bags of rubbish. This place needs a panorama documentary done on it because the public would be horrified if they knew a fraction of the systemic neglect that happened here daily. There is no real training, you are just thrown in at the deep end on day one. There is no support for mental health, just a poster in the tearoom with a phone number on it. We regularly see the full spectrum of horrific, life ending injuries and disease but management doesn’t even have regular check ins with us. Meanwhile management have plenty of time to pressure us to sell as many attended funerals as possible. We are expected to work long past our hours with no notice but have to give them a months notice for a day off. Clinical waste is all over the place, used gloves, soiled blankets etc. Staff rarely wear PPE and when they do it’s just thrown in any old bin or on the floor. Staff come in from working on the deceased and wash their hands in the tearoom where people are having lunch. Issue are raised with management daily, from broken or missing equipment to openly racist and abusive behaviour. NOTHING is ever done about it. Good staff keep leaving and the bad ones get a pass because they make more money by cutting corners.
