Pros

Core product is great, there are talented staff who give their all and work really hard to help you. It once was an amazing working environment and I really enjoyed my job. Customers are some of the best people to work with and that gave me a lot of satisfaction.

Cons

The cons are everything you have done recently in the last 12-18 months which is slowly tarnishing Diligent’s reputation amongst customers and driving the business into the ground. Morale is beyond an all time low and talented people are leaving the business because they are not being listened to/cared for. They probably didn’t want to but they didn’t have a choice, a person can only take so much. the support team change was a huge mistake and it was done at the expense of our customers. They suffer and client facing staff suffer. How can you expect them to be open to buying more? Expansion sales feel the pain too. Pay is below average for the amount of work we do. Not enough headcount, it’s like being part of skeleton staff every single day.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. It’s gratifying that you feel positively about the great relationships you’ve built with your colleagues and customers as part of our Diligent community. We are of course sorry to hear that you’ve felt impacted by some of the recent strategic changes we announced last year. We completely recognize how hard change can be, especially given the inherent challenges and growing pains that can come with any transition. We do believe, however, that the transformation we’ve undertaken has put us on the right path to accelerate Diligent’s growth trajectory and set the organization up to thrive in the future. That not only benefits our clients, but our talented team. In planning our transformation, we knew how important it was to align our business even more closely to the needs of our customers – which is why we reorganized our teams in a way that enables even greater regional focus, so we can be more responsive to our diverse geographies. We’ve strengthened our product development and customer support functions, which as you mentioned, are the engine for our success and client loyalty. We’ve recently hired and onboarded a significant amount of talent in these areas – particularly in our newest global locations, which enable us to serve our nearly 50% of clients outside the U.S. even better. The growth we’re seeing is a reflection of the trust clients have in us to consistently innovate our offerings, meet the highest standards of security, and provide them with concierge-level service. Ensuring our people feel heard is more important to us than ever as we forge ahead. We have a variety of ways employees can share with us their questions, thoughts, and feedback – including our regular pulse surveys and town halls/Q&A sessions. We also encourage you, if you haven’t already, to discuss your concerns with your manager, SLT or ELT member, or your HR rep – whomever you feel most comfortable speaking with. And, there is always our anonymous HR alias (HRconfidential@diligent.com). We recognize feedback is the only way we’ll improve as an organization. Above all, we greatly appreciate your long service and commitment to Diligent, and thank you again for sharing your comments with us. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your experience. We truly appreciate you recognizing the strengths of our product and the talent across our team, and we’re glad to hear the space feels interesting and compelling. We also recognize that as a company focused on governance, risk and compliance, that it’s critical to hold ourselves to the same high standards internally. Through our monthly pulse surveys, we listen to our team, learn and actively work to strengthen any areas of feedback from alignment to transparency, or accountability across our leadership teams. In fact, one of our OKRs is focused solely on ensuring we have an empowered and accountable team, which we rally around as an organization. We appreciate other sources of feedback like yours, as it is an important part of that effort. Our People team is committed to supporting an elevated employee experience and continuously improving how we listen, respond, and evolve. While we won’t always get everything right on the first try, we are highly focused on continuing to iterate and making meaningful progress to ensure our actions reflect our values. We encourage continued feedback and appreciate you sharing your perspective. If you’d like to provide any additional context, please feel free to reach out at: HRConfidential@diligent.com
