Pros

Your work helps support the U.S. safety net health system and vulnerable communities around the world.

Cons

The atmosphere internally is stressful and demoralizing mainly because management does a poor job of supporting employees ' careers. Lots of talented people leave after a short while. Worse if you are a woman or WOC.

Pros

Incredible work with tremendous impact on communities around the world. Reputation to the public is well earned as a top nonprofit in the nation. Great benefits and perks for a nonprofit. A lot of hiring lately which is a good sign for growth.

Cons

Cliquey environment in the office with employees that have been there a long time. Creates discomfort and tension for others to learn or ask questions and feel welcomed. Hierarchy is strongly followed across the org so communication can feel stalled sometimes. Micro aggression training would be good for some employees. Good perks, but pay still far too low for the area. If you’re single, it’s hard imagining surviving in SB county on the salary/hourly pay offered. Little to no flexibility for hybrid or remote work.
