Pros

It’s a great way to gain some experience in the nonprofit environment.

Cons

The pay is low but it is a non profit so keep that in mind. There’s not much room for growth there unless you are a veteran. They will tell you they have a growth plan but won’t provide any sort of plan for you to grow. I thought I was going to be there for my entire career but no plan was provided for me nor was I advocated for. I was told that it isn’t looked upon nicely if we wanted to apply for a job that was posted externally. They let other employees run around and be rude to people (fundraising department.) not one member of leadership met with me after I put my 2 weeks in. No flexibility at all. Some managers are push overs and let their employees guide their decisions. No diversity, no care for there employees or aren’t white. Director of fundraising goes straight to their office every day they come in and in there most of the day. Executive director doesn’t come out of his office much. Employees are not kept in the loop, lack of transparency.
