Pros
Selling ice cream in an ice cream truck is a lot of fun! working events and cruising the neighborhoods and talking with parents and kids is really cute and such a perk.
Cons
Paychecks are suspiciously inconsistent, we make an hourly plus 10% commission, I've witnessed several employees have to confront management about their paychecks. Some speculate that the accountant may be a bit up in years and not able to pay attention to details that well. I've witnessed poor safety practices and several people becoming ill from carbon monoxide poisoning because of vehicle engine cover not properly secured and poor handling of the situation of someone having gone to the hospital twice because of said carbon monoxide poisoning. Poor communication of protocols, poor handling of employee issues, poor handling of interpersonal relationships. Employees don't feel secure in communicating with management or owner because of distrust. Poor handling of 'letting people go', rather than communicate the problems that may have lead to a person not maintaining their position they just get "ghosted", I've witnessed this several times and employees desperate to know what happened. Management is shady and erratic and speaks too much about other employees. No air conditioning in vans, can get 100 degrees.
