Was a wonderful family-like environment for years. Decent pay, yearly raises and bonuses available.

Was a great place to work for several years, with caring higher ups and the best corporate culture I have ever experienced. The company was "merged" with its biggest competitor in the Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) field around 2 years ago, and everything changed, despite promises that it would not. Then, at the beginning of May, several people were called into a big meeting at which they served breakfast from Panera bread and many full-time employees were let go, most had been there for several years, some as much as 20 and all were let go with small severance packages. Persons fired in that meeting were not even allowed to return to their work stations to retrieve their possessions, immediate needs like purses and lunch boxes were brought to us and the rest was mailed at a later date. However, within 2 weeks of letting all of these long term full time people go, they were looking for additional "seasonal" employees to pick up the slack. They would be paid less and they would not be eligible for benefits. They had said that there were done with hiring and training seasonal employees for the 2017 season until they let all of these long term people go. What had been a caring company became solely about the bottom line and saving money once the new company was in charge. Had become difficult to take care of customers within the allowed AHT (Average Handle Time)
