Pros

I used to be proud to work here, but since Bob Blue has taken over, things have gone downhill. Under Tom Farrell, the company seemed to really support employees, especially with COVID.

Cons

Where’s the support for women? The company has had absolutely nothing to say about supporting women, despite the fact that multiple states with trigger laws are in our footprint. But don’t worry, they’ll ship your breast milk for free so that you can keep traveling for work after you’ve been forced to continue on with a pregnancy.

Thank you so much for your review and for raising these concerns. Supporting and empowering women is a critical element in creating an inclusive workplace. I am also a female employee at Dominion Energy and understand how unsettling the last few weeks have been for many. Dominion Energy is closely monitoring the “trigger laws” you mentioned and are consulting with our legal and benefits teams to better understand the potential impact on employees. With our employees being spread across multiple states, this process will take time. While these conversations remain ongoing, they are important and are certainly top of mind for leadership. I also reached out to our Women Employee Resource Group (We3) about this, as their mission is to establish an inclusive work environment for our female-identifying employees and to coordinate opportunities for professional development. I also reached out to our Women Employee Resource Group (We3) regarding this, as their mission is to establish an inclusive work environment for our female-identifying employees and to coordinate opportunities for professional development. They, along with all of our ERGs and Diversity Councils, are in the process of planning the very first ever Women’s Conference in 2023, during which women across Dominion Energy will be highlighted and get to share their stories. Additionally, the company has been working to start monitoring retention metrics for female employees and hopes to roll out “stay interviews” so that we can better address the concerns of this group, especially around the COVID pandemic and work flexibility. With regards to the Milkship program, this was designed to support women during this phase of motherhood, not as an expectation. The company offers a substantial maternity leave option for any woman who chooses to become a parent and our benefits team work diligently to make sure the needs of this group are covered. We also provide all employees support through our Career Center in which they are able to receive guidance on their career progression, resume help, and interview guidance. This has been a key factor in ensuring all voices and perspectives are being heard, especially when it comes to promotions and new opportunities. In fact, our entire HR group has rolled out new performance management process which outlines its principals as Know Me, Support Me, Guide Me, and Value Me. I know this was a lot of information, but I wanted to make sure you knew your concerns were heard and shared with various individuals, including leadership. Our women-identifying employees are fundamentally necessary to perform the work Dominion Energy does every day and they are valued. I would highly recommend you join our We3 Employee Resource Group or any ERG for an additional avenue to express your concerns. Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback.
