Pros
Good pension Paid contribution for Lunch
Cons
While working at the Dorchester Collection I was constantly micromanaged. I felt like I was being monitored and there was no trust from management. Supposedly the workload in my department had increased significantly before I joined, however there was no intention to increase the size of the team to help with the workload. There was a culture within the department to work tirelessly which in today's world does not promote a good work life balance. Also when you work 9 hours a day I don't think a 30 minute break is enough. I used to work through my lunch and work late because of how much work there was to do, as did my co-workers. The expectation to work overtime was one which was unpaid. There needs to be more support in learning and development as well. There was no encouragement to do any sort of training unless it was outside of work hours. With the overtime being worked, there was simply no time for this. I understand there was some training available in the Dorchester Collection Academy but for my role there wasn't much on offer in terms of courses.
