Pros
I have been working at PI for almost a year. I came into the company in a different department. I was under performing and my probation got extended. I was approached by the CEO and was offered a different role.
The first thing to understand about PI is that their culture means EVERYTHING to them. I was a good culture fit and they really did what they could to keep me. They offered me a role that was better suited to my strengths. I have been in this role since February and I have now passed my probation and I couldn't be happier.
It is very rare that you get recognised for under performing and given a completely different role with a better opportunity. This is the type of place that PI is, they will do their best to help you and support you. The culture of the company makes you want to push yourself, work hard but also stay true to who you are and thrive.
Cons
Working in a start up is a con in its self. There are long hours and it is demanding. The mission we are on requires long hours and it is a demanding mission.
There have been some posts left by previous staff members. Working in a founder led company is not for everyone. Sometimes there are decisions made that you might not agree with, but this isn't your company. Transparency is a huge thing here and when decisions are made we are know about it and it is discussed in great length.
The main thing to take away is that you always want to be somewhere where the pros out weigh the cons. For me, this is that place.
