Pros

I have been working at EKFB Chipping warden for the past two years, and my experience has been nothing short of exhilarating. This company truly embodies the spirit of a fast-paced work environment.

Cons

Moreover, the absence of proper systems impacts the quality of work and creates unnecessary stress. Without clear guidelines or efficient workflows, tasks become convoluted, deadlines are often missed, and the overall productivity of the team suffers. This chaotic work environment not only affects individual job satisfaction but also hampers the company's ability to deliver results consistently. Working as a site engineer at EKFB has proven to be a challenging experience, primarily due to the evident lack of leadership from Sections engineers/Agents . The absence of clear guidance and support has left site engineers feeling overwhelmed and under constant pressure. allways the site engineer is to blame by the foremens and works managers. The pressure intensifies as deadlines loom, and decisions need to be made swiftly. Without strong leadership providing a vision and strategy, site engineers are forced to make critical choices independently, often leading to stress and anxiety. The burden of responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of the site engineering team, contributing to a sense of frustration and the feeling of being left in the dark.

Pros

Working within a joint venture, with my parent company being Kier Group, provided an engaging and varied role. The work was interesting and enjoyable on a day to day basis. Pay was relatively fair for the level of responsibility. Management was supportive and effective, and the wider team was professional and easy to work with. Safety standards on site were strong, and I consistently felt safe at work. Although the hours on site were long, the overall experience and the people made it worthwhile.

Cons

Career progression was difficult due to the corporate structure and budget constraints. Opportunities for promotion and pay increases were limited. I often took on responsibilities beyond my role, but progressing required navigating multiple layers of approval, which was slow and challenging. In the end, it was more practical to move to another company than to progress internally.
