Pros
People care strongly about the work they are doing and the community members who they serve. Front line staff are all hourly which means that they get (less) overworked. Some emphasis is placed on hiring within the organization. Incredibly diverse staff makes for a rich and wonderful exchange of culture and ideas. EBALDC could do a better job of leveraging the skills and experiences of their staff members.
Cons
The organization has grown a lot over the last several years and needs to make some major updates to its admin systems, organizational structure, and HR to catch up. Pretty big growing pains currently. Upper management has just hired consultants to work with staff to identify where they believe change is needed. This is a great start, now let's see the actual change. Poor communication overall, especially between departments and between staff within departments who work at different properties. Very hierarchical organization with little opportunity for front line staff to give input on programming decisions where their experience would be of benefit. Fairly high turn over of staff, even for an organization of this size.
