Everything about the company.
Firstly, the company falsely market themselves a lot. They advertise Software Tester Training programme and state that the pay is competitive with no clause attached, which is incorrect. The pay for the training programme is £17500. They state you can get pay bump quickly if you do the work. That’s a lie no pay bump. If you ask for pay rise and give evidences for the reasons they plain say NO with no explanation. In addition, if you try to leave before 6 months, you pay them back £3500. If you leave after 6 months and less than a year; you pay back £600. They claimed that’s the cost of the training. There is absolutely no training. We sat is class for like a week doing nothing and a lot of questions asked in the training was not answered because the trainer was incapable.
NOTE: when they put you on client site. They don’t put you on as a Trainee software tester. They put you on as Tester with 2 years experiences and client looking at you like why don’t you know this things?
Secondly, career advancement is almost impossible. If you don’t suck up to the management; you are totally not getting promoted. So they have few Test Leads and that’s not because they are experienced or good at what they do. They only got promoted because they sucked up to the management.
In addition, they claimed there is ongoing training to staff members. They advertise training but when you apply for the training they don’t respond to your email.
Furthermore, you are a money machine to them. So things like 1 to 1 meeting with your manager is done during your lunch break (which they do not pay for), Quarterly meeting, which apparently is compulsory and they don’t pay for is done during your personal time.
Finally, I would advise stay away. I don ‘t think they will last anyway as one of their biggest client is slowly replacing them testers on site with another company due to the high staff turnover.
