Pros

Dedicated teachers, some of whom are incredibly innovative. Beautiful facilities.

Cons

The headline was inspired by a direct quote from a student. I wish Ednovate put as much effort into developing their teachers, staff, and schools as they do the branding. Ednovate has made mistakes TWICE on my payroll and there are few opportunities for salary increases. The stipends that are provided are heavily taxed and always more work than it is worth. Teachers and students are constantly incentivized to write positive reviews on various platforms in exchange for raffles or prizes. I have been observed once in my four years at the school and have never been given critical feedback to grow. Thankfully I had teaching experience elsewhere, otherwise this is not a network to become a better educator. Some veteran educators/staff at the network run the risk of becoming too comfortable and never being held accountable. Many promotions are from within the network and people are hesitant to hold their friends accountable. This is often frustrating for those of us with fewer years at the network than others.

Pros

Network has a good amount of funds for student field trips and student festivals.

Cons

Admin is more focused on optics especially with social media marketing that makes the image of Ednovate a mirage when in person vs online presence. No accountability for students who have bad behavior or chose not to do any work assigned. Students are not given F's or NP's so students know that they can literally do nothing and still pass and move to the next grade. There is a lot of grade inflation with honor's or AP classes in order to boost GPA despite not holding students to AP standards with many students failing the AP exam. The grade inflation is in order to boost GPA so students can look better on paper when applying for college. They focus on college acceptance optics and not actually preparing students for college especially academic rigorous colleges where for many it will be sink or swim. Many admin are former teachers with only a few years of in class teaching and just playing politics in order to move up to an admin role since many admin turn over is high as many use it a stepping stone to a promotion.
