Pros

The training on selling techniques is ok, people are friendly, the trips were first class. They put up a new sign outside and only charged my office $4,000.

Cons

The image they create that you are working for yourself is completely wrong, there is no question they control everything you do. The payouts are very low, they only pay once each month. The general partners call the shots and get all the money. Product offerings are very thin. They want you to sell A Share everything so the clients lose a chunk of funds to commission up front. They are now trying to jam everyone into managed accounts....which are more costly over time with no guarantee of better performance. Field supervision is repressive, questioning everything you do and forcing you to waste time explaining what you did even if it was suitable. The regional people forget your phone number when you need them most. They expect you to recruit and undertake regional tasks without remuneration.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
