Good to start at but slowly losing its shine - Lab Technician Embryotech Laboratories Employee Review

Pros

Good location and a smaller business that has been slowly growing over the time I was there. Most of the employees are nice and the pay is decent for the title.

Cons

Management change has made things feel rocky in the lab. The management only seems to care about the money and is willing to change rules when they seem fit. Questions are answered with lectures and not actually answering the initial question and it feels like your in the wrong even when asking for clarification. Lack of communication between management and employees, things are dropped on them last minute and are expected to be done regardless of what regular work has to be done. No room for growth in positions its a very small company in that regard.

Pros

It used to be a great company to work for. I was very grateful for my time there prior to the recent "restructuring"

Cons

The upper management is an absolute mess. The parent company along with upper management decided to "restructure" the company. They fired long tenured and respected managers and replaced them with higher level management. The pleasant small company culture quickly eroded after these changes and left nothing but a toxic workplace where past experience held little or no value and each employee was viewed as disposable. Favoritism is rampant in the new leadership and I would highly recommend seeking employment elsewhere if you value your mental health and career development. I would give zero stars if I could.

Pros

The old management team was great. They buy lunches about once a month.

Cons

They like to scrub negative reviews from Indeed. I’m hoping glassdoor won’t take this down. The upper management decided to “restructure” the two most established people in the company and replace them with someone because they have a PhD. During the fallout of the meeting after their termination I was relieved to hear the rest of our positions were safe. Upper management doesn’t know what they are doing.
