HR and Compensation have been busy trying to fit everybody into boxes. This is not something I would expect from a University in the year 2017. I've been waiting over a year for a promotion and have actually ended up with more responsibility and the choice to downgrade to an hourly title or to just take a merit increase. It's not a very rewarding situation as your hard work and dedication to take on more responsibility does not move you up. You are better off quitting and coming back under a new title. That's an unfortunate situation to be in. You don't hold onto talent putting people in boxes. This attitude will cost the University dearly as they endure the time and cost to replace those who eventually become fed up and leave.
