Incredibly Deceiving and Mismanaged - Operations Enchanted Celebrations Employee Review

Pros

I haven’t worked here in a while, but seeing all of the obviously forced 5 star reviews from outsourced workers on the same day a few weeks ago… I have to say something. A lot of ex-employees of this company keep in touch, and everyone has a nightmare story. There’s a reason turn around is so high. Pros? Some of the contacts with the clients were satisfying.

Cons

- they treat their contractors TERRIBLY! Constant threats, unclear or complete lack of communication, any criticism of how things are run and they are put on a black list to not get booked and are never told they were put on this list. - in house staff is underpaid, all the contractors are underpaid, and all work that can be exported is so that they can pay “professional editors” pennies to edit photos and videos people are paying thousands for - upper management are legitimate bullies. Talk trash on current and ex employees, have NO ability to take any criticism whatsoever. Many stories of employees being berated badly enough to go cry somewhere. Not normal at all. - all employees and contractors are constantly threatened for things that are ILLEGAL to be threatened for, such as pay transparency. - ridiculous amount of disorganization, constant mess ups with clients. They will have one employee on 10 different emails/phones pretending to be 10 different people to cover up the fact all those employees QUIT and turn around is so constant. - I know multiple employees who quit and left reasonings/criticism that is consistent and fair and yet management will do nothing about it - Training is an insane amount of information presented in the most obtuse and disorganized way possible - You can get paid more at Target or Starbucks. Managers here were making less.

Pros

This is a good place to start if you're trying to break into the wedding videography field! The best part about working here is the creative freedom you get. You have the liberty to exercise your filmmaking skills the way you want, and create an end product couples will love. You can work as little or as much as you like, and contracts can be relatively steady.

Cons

Starting pay could be better! Be aware that the shadow shoots are not paid, either. They are upfront about this. Biggest gripe is that videographers and photographers aren't allowed to speak to clients directly until a week before the event. This leaves very little time for immensely important things like shotlisting. It would be beneficial to both parties if clients and vendors were able to go over the finer details before the week of the event.
