Pros

Every single team member is expected to contribute and bring new and fresh ideas to the table. The culture and work environment here is very supportive of each other, fostering a workplace setting that welcomes diversity, different perspectives and viewpoints. The great thing of working for a start-up is, we are able to test and try new initiatives and campaigns in order to determine what is successful or not. We have weekly discussions on various topics, and everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions. In my experience working here I have not felt micromanaged at all, in fact with every project I have been given it is up to me to determine how I want to achieve that end result. I am given a great deal of flexibility and creative reign in my role as Marketing and Customer Relationship Manager, and appreciate that this role is ever-changing and not stagnant. It encourages me to adapt and take on new challenges constantly so that I am growing and developing as a professional. Antonia's goal is to ensure each team member is properly developed in their respective role and has the tools necessary to succeed in this company. The standards are set high, but it is impressive and rewarding to see firsthand the work that you put into this company having a direct effect on the success of the business as a whole.

Cons

As with any small or medium-sized company, Enclosed is growing and changing constantly. One must be adaptable and open to change, or else you will not succeed. If you are looking to be hired here, you really have to be a jack-of-all-trades and eager to take on projects or tasks outside of your job description. There is a great deal of cross functional collaboration, and having a positive attitude is crucial. That being said this work environment is not the right fit for everyone, especially if you are looking to do just one kind of job. Working cross functionally is not necessarily a bad thing, and in fact our employees are more well-rounded because of this. Additionally we are constantly looking to improve the processes we have put in place, and will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of systems we use on a daily basis.

Pros

Working at Enclosed enabled to see all sides of a start-up. I gained hands-on experience in developing social media strategy and overseeing Enclosed's marketing rollout. I got to work really closely with my co-workers to research PR initiatives and get Enclosed press coverage. It was really rewarding to see this whole process. In addition, I got to conduct a summer-long project on Enclosed's renewals strategy.

Cons

Because Enclosed is a start-up company, people working here need to learn how to be more flexible. Working at start-up requires someone who is willing to help in all stages of an early start-up.

Pros

The concept is a good one and the CEO, Antonia Townsend, is very very smart. She cares about the details and is set on her concept. She is a very talented marketer and has a pretty good head for finance.

Cons

The CEO has been running the business without senior executive assistance for several years. She is used to doing things "her way" and doesn't always seem receptive to different solutions. She micromanages and isn't used to managing by outcomes. She manages actual process, even if it isn't optimum. When she learns how to delegate at a senior level, she will be a great CEO. If you are applying as an executive, probe for how you would be managed and evaluated.

Some of the criticisms in this review are fair, but should be taken for what they are, which is criticism from a person who was not offered a job. This person did not actually work for Enclosed, but applied for a job which was not offered to him.
