Pros

Interesting and worthwhile work, some talented and committed colleagues. High profile work with lots of opportunities to network. Good launch pad for a career elsewhere.

Cons

Absolutely no commitment at senior management level to employee engagement, and no understanding of what being a good employer would mean. HR process and practices are unfair and obstructive, with very limited opportunities for lower grades of staff to progress. No actual commitment to (or process for) balancing the commercial needs of the business with the aims of the organisation.

Pros

- Supportive colleagues - Many employees are committed to the 'mission'

Cons

- Embarrassingly poor remuneration levels - Far too much corporate jargon and pointless grandstanding, e.g. restructuring things into 'centres of excellence.'

Pros

Good dedicated staff at lower levels.

Cons

Bullied out a job. This company had me doing three jobs at once to cover two vacant manager positions on top of my own role as an officer. They pressured me at a time they knew I was unwell after a family bereavement. They contacted me repeatedly during my time off and pushed me into returning to work with additional responsibilities. Additional backdated wages were promised by management and never paid. When my health got worse adjustments were rejected without discussion. They ignored emails asking for advice and support. If you want to work here, join a union, prepare to speak to ACAS and be vigilant about discriminatory practices.
