Pros

- products in an interesting industry - high level clients - cool office (no one has time to utilize)

Cons

From a developer point of view: - software that is quickly falling behind, with no time to be modernized - a mess of coding standards - no continues integration - no continues deployment - salaries are 20-40% below the industry standard for intermediate and above - lack of talent to learn and expand expertise from From a managerial point of view: - lack of vision - lack of leadership - lack of direction - any expectation management that can be done with the client, is quickly destroyed when an executive gets involved and makes a dishonest short term gain decision to cover for the web of lies that was weaved months ago. From a career point of view: - no room for growth - no recognition (which is sad for a company in the loyalty and recognition space) - no clear career paths for developers or any position job for that matter

Pros

- Intelligent and fun coworkers, super chill people - Indoor basketball court but you can't use it during office hours

Cons

- Most of the cool employees either left or laid off - No salary raise due to the lack of performance review. Your manager has zero knowledge on your work. Extra work is not recognized, the most you might get is a pat on the back. - Zero transparency and lies from management. Town halls are glorified speeches to hype up the company and to cover up the reality. - Overpromises to clients. Selling features that doesn't exist and expect developers to deliver in unrealistic timeframe. Which caused clients to leave. - Favouritism. People in the big boys club get treated like royals, and every one else is just peasants. - Unwillingness to change. The "flagship" product has been reworked/refactored for numerous times through out the years and it is still not functional. No one looks back and try to figure out why. - Meaningless meetings. Sometimes meetings are absolutely useless and nothing is accomplished. When decisions are actually made, they will be thrown away in the following weeks and people will be circling back to the same problems again.
