Pros
- Quality of coworkers is incredible, long hiring process results in hiring great people coming onboard
- Culture is clearly a priority, with the company pitching in on cost of recreational sports, annual hiking trip, meals (many company lunches), and hot/cold drinks, and snacks usually available in-office daily
- Overhaul of benefits package in 2021, improving parental leave, time off policy/holidays and other benefits
- The company has invested in its workspaces, providing a productive environment and they set up employees with the technology needed to do their jobs well
Cons
- Lack of formal HR department is becoming a major issue as the company grows, COO assumes most HR duties, and anonymity is not guaranteed
- Remote work policy was recently adjusted to stricter in-office expectations, blanket policy put in place regardless of role
- Blurred lines between roles, especially at the top, is rampant, with several people "wearing multiple hats" which can result in conflicting opinions, power struggles, and micromanagement
- Company is constantly starting new projects with a high level of excitement and potential, but the rate of finished projects/products does not keep up
- D&I is improving, but not as diverse as the leadership will claim it is
- Ambiguous role definitions (associate, staff, senior) and salary bands (consequence of company growth rate and current size, was under the impression these are being defined)
- Remote work policy was recently adjusted to stricter in-office expectations, blanket policy put in place regardless of role
